Little Yellow Bird Support Services goal is to build awareness of an individual's physical, emotional, and cultural experiences. Through body-centered exercises and talk therapy, Mallory encourages her clients to cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves to create a life driven by self-agency and joy.
Her credentials include:
Master's Degree in Social Work: As a registered social worker, Mallory has degrees in Social Work to equip her with a deep understanding of human behavior and mental health. Her education, a Master of Social Work at Dalhousie University in Halifax, provides her with a theoretical foundation needed to guide individuals towards positive change and growth.
Deeply Rooted in First Nation Wisdom: Growing up on her First Nation, she understands the unique challenges facing Indigenous communities in Northern Ontario. Her trauma-informed therapy model incorporates holistic elements and traditional practices. Creating a supportive space to explore a person cultural identity or a diverse perspective for clients who are not Anishinaabek decent.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) Education: Mallory completed the Somatic Experiencing Three-Year Professional Training and is registered to use the title of Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for all individuals seeking support.
Compassionate & Joyful Approach: Mallory believes in cultivating a safe and non-judgmental environment for her clients. Her approach creates a supportive space for individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and physiological reactions. The goal is so each client will actively choose their own healing and orienting themselves towards safety & joy.
