Body Sensations
Connecting our feelings to body sensations can greatly facilitate self-regulation by providing valuable signals and insights into our emotional states. When we consciously tune in to the physical sensations occurring in our bodies, we can identify and understand the subtle cues that accompany different emotions. For example, we may notice a tightness in our chest when we feel anxious or a sinking feeling in our stomach when we experience sadness. By becoming attuned to these sensations, we can acknowledge and validate our emotions, helping us regulate them more efficiently.
